About

Small Beth draws (or writes?).
Small Beth draws. (Or writes!)

Beth Price Morgan is writer and illustrator who creates books with heart and adventure. An art college dean by day, she is passionate about helping creatives learn to love themselves and launch into their destinies. She currently lives on the North Shore of Massachusetts with her gardener husband, wild son, gentle cat, and a growing jungle of houseplants.

In college, Beth created her own interdisciplinary major at Miami University (Oxford, OH), studying Creative Writing & Illustration, with an emphasis on Alternative Publishing Media and a concentration in Asian Art History. Her thesis, Storytelling in Images and Words, researched how creators combine art and writing to tell stories, and was accompanied by an experimental comic book composed entirely without panels. Afterward, she received an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College, and then continued to immerse herself in writing communities as a writing coach and instructor at various New England colleges, and as an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).

Beth’s short stories and microfiction have been published in Inklings Arts & Letters (Spring 2004), What if?: Writing Exercises for Fiction Writers (3rd Edition), and Heroic Care: 35 Writers and Artists Show What it Means to Care (2021). She has been a speaker and workshop facilitator at multiple conferences and religious communities in New England, including: New England Comic Arts in the Classroom, Southern New Hampshire Academic Conference, New England Writing Center Assoc. Conference, Center for the Improvement of Teaching Conference, Antioch Ministries International Discipleship School, Antioch Community Church (Beverly, Waltham), and The Harbor: A Community of Faith.

In addition to writing coaching and instruction, Beth has worked as a career design studio director, church leadership program director, Boston tour guide, bookstore employee, and a visiting artist at a community arts center. Currently, she is the Assistant Dean of Academic and Career Services at Montserrat College of Art, where she facilitates the college’s mentoring and internship programs, offers lifelong career coaching to alumni, and supervises the college’s academic support programs. She is a Life Design educator certified by Stanford University’s Life Design Studio, and enjoys leading hope-filled, imaginative workshops that help artists and creatives design their lives and mend their hearts.

Beth’s faith weaves through her writing. She grew up in an interfaith Jewish and Christian household, and so did her husband. They met at an interfaith gathering and now joyfully incorporate both Jewish and Christian traditions into their family life. They particularly love celebrating overlapping holidays like Passover and Easter with their son!
